Capacity Building Training to Key Staff of MoA: Agriculture and Horticulture Development Sector
Two days of training on the software and various digital applications developed by KUKUNET Digital were provided to the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Sector of the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) from 28–29 November 2025. The training was organized with the support and facilitation of AGRA Ethiopia. During the event, H.E. Dr. Meles Mekonnen, State Minister at the Ministry of Agriculture, emphasized the importance of adopting digital systems to address operational bottlenecks and to strengthen comprehensive digital transformation efforts, in alignment with national priorities. Dr. Yihenew Zewdie, Country Director of AGRA, highlighted the breadth and relevance of the digital systems showcased, noting their potential to significantly transform the sector. He reaffirmed his and his team’s commitment to supporting the implementation of these initiatives.

Training to Agriculture and Horticulture Extension LE Members
A training session was conducted for Agriculture and Horticulture Extension experts, Desk Heads, and LEO focusing on the digital planning and reporting tools available in the Ministry of Agriculture Dashboard developed by KUKUNET Digital. The session covered key functionalities including digital planning and reporting workflows, event management, task and To-Do handling, and other core features of the dashboard. Participants actively engaged in hands-on exercises and discussions to ensure effective application of the system in their respective operational areas. Digital Extension Training Delivered
Extension LE and PACT collaborated with Cropin and KUKUNET digital to establish a digital extension system. Survey on Farmers’ Digital Literacy and Adoption of Agri-Tech Systems
The Agricultural and Horticultural Lead Executive of the Ministry of Agriculture, with the support of KUKUNET Digital experts, conducted a survey to assess farmers’ digital literacy, adoption of agricultural digital extension technologies, and current use of digital systems. The survey took place in Oromia and Sidama regions, where Digital Green has been active for several years, and was conducted between October 20–25, 2025. The findings will help inform strategies to enhance digital engagement, improve service delivery, and support the effective use of agricultural technologies among farmers.

Digital Planning and Reporting Training Conducted for Urban Agriculture Leaders and Experts
The Urban Agriculture Lead Executive of the Ministry of Agriculture organized a half-day training session for leaders and experts on the Digital Planning and Reporting System developed by KUKUNET Digital. Held on October 31, 2025, the training aimed to strengthen the digital capacity of the Urban Agriculture team and enhance coordination, planning, and performance reporting within the sector. During the session, participants were introduced to several innovative digital tools designed for the Ministry’s use — including To-Do (self-scheduling and assignment management), Event Management, and an integrated Chat Platform that facilitates collaboration and communication among experts. The event emphasized the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to digital transformation, promoting efficient management and data-driven decision-making across the Urban Agriculture sector.

Fertilizer Digital Tracking System Nears Completion

On November 15, 2024, a key discussion took place between the State Minister, Dr. Sofia Kassa, and higher officials and technical team members from the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) to review progress and next steps.

Digital Planning and Reporting to Revolutionize Agricultural Investment and Input Sector at MoA

This initiative is spearheaded by the full engagement of Lead Executives and Experts across the sector. The training management system is currently undergoing full-scale testing.
